Jason Kwon, Chief Strategy Officer, will discuss our updated corporate structure that keeps OpenAI’s nonprofit mission at the center and establishes the OpenAI Foundation– making it one of the most well-resourced philanthropic organizations in the world.

About the Speakers:

Jason Kwon, Chief Strategy Officer @ OpenAI

Jason Kwon is the Chief Strategy Officer at OpenAI, overseeing policy, legal, and social impact research teams. Previously, he was the General Counsel of Y Combinator Continuity, Assistant General Counsel of Khosla Ventures and an associate attorney at Goodwin Procter. He was a software engineer and product manager before practicing law. Jason has a JD from UC Berkeley Law and a BA from Georgetown University.

Josh Achiam, Head of Mission Alignment @ OpenAI

Josh Achiam is the Head of Mission Alignment at OpenAI, supporting the organization in defining and evangelizing the mission to ensure that AGI benefits all of humanity. He joined OpenAI in 2017 as a research scientist and has worked on AI safety research and operations, AI impacts research, and educational resources (including Spinning Up in Deep RL). Previously, Josh earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from UC Berkeley and BS degrees in Physics and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Florida.
