Virtual Event: The AI Culture Shift: American University’s Model for Change
About the Talk:
An integral part of AI transformation is the cultural shift required to make it real—communicating clearly, building trust, and empowering people to lead the change.
At this OpenAI Forum session, Professor Angela Virtu of American University’s Kogod School of Business will share how her institution is embedding AI into the fabric of academic life through a deliberate focus on culture, experimentation, and faculty leadership.
Attendees will get a firsthand look at Kogod's phased approach to transformation: from rethinking student skill development, to launching ongoing faculty training, to integrating AI across 40+ courses in every discipline. You’ll hear how they prepare students to graduate AI-literate and career-ready—while supporting faculty through monthly AI meetups, rubric-aligned GPTs, and transparent conversations around AI use in the classroom.
This session is for education leaders ready to move beyond pilots and policies—toward a model of institution-wide AI transformation grounded in trust, community, and clarity of purpose.
