Virtual: Thinking Machines: How Reasoning AI Is Rewriting the Future of Work, Science, and Strategy
About the Talk:
AI Economics in the OpenAI Forum was jam packed with research and thought leadership exploring the intersection of AI and all sectors of the economy. Join us for our watch party followed by a live Q&A session with OpenAI researchers and attendees of the all day event that unfolded in OpenAI's San Francisco's office.
We'll kick off the session with a presentation by Noam Brown, OpenAI research scientist, and former student of economics. Brown argues that generality-contemporary AI models' ability to perform various tasks without being specialized for them, is what makes today’s AI, particularly models like ChatGPT, different from past AI milestones such as IBM’s Deep Blue and Watson.
The second half the day, attendees of AI Economics broke into smaller groups to discuss themes that aligned with their areas of expertise or deep interest including, AI and decision-making, the impact of AI in education, AI capabilities, AI in geopolitics, AI as an economic research tool, AI and enterprises, and how we can improve data collection to measure AI’s economic effects. Each group shares a recap of their discussion with the larger group, and we're giving Forum members a front row seat to these presentations.
Stick around to the end and connect with OpenAI Economics researchers and attendees from the event for a live Q&A and networking session.
